My name is Carol White Llewellyn and my husband and I are adoptive parents. I’m also a communications and tourism consultant, writer, blogger, documentary film maker and television producer. In the course of my career, I have been an executive at the Advertising Research Foundation, a trade association in New York City, the Managing Editor of the Journal of Advertising Research, and the Publisher of a travel magazine.
Ten years ago, my husband and I adopted our amazing twin daughters from China. I often think how easy it would have been to remain childless, accepting that we could not have biological children, and that “it was not meant to be.” We would have missed out on one of the most important, rewarding and beautiful experiences of our lives…the opportunity to parent two extraordinary young ladies.
It is for this reason that I decided to produce a program for television and the internet that would give prospective parents guidance and resources to help them decide whether adoption is right for them. Although it may not be for everyone, for those individuals who decide to travel this path, it will undoubtedly enrich your life and the life of your child in ways you cannot possibly imagine. I wish you every blessing on your journey.
If you would like to share your adoption story with my readers, I would be happy to post a piece from you. Simply send it to CWhiteLlewellyn at msndotcom (using traditional email format).
I wish to add a special note of thanks to the many individuals and organizations that have contributed time, expertise and advice in the creation of this program. Without you, this initiative could not have taken place.
In particular, I wish to thank:
